Hino FS2P Overview
The Hino FS2P is one of the entry-level offerings in the 700 Series of heavy-duty commercial vehicles from the Japanese commercial truck maker. Available in three different body styles of dumper, mixer, and cargo, the Hino FS2P is positioned just above the range starting Hino FS2P and is essentially a longer wheelbase version of it with slightly better load carrying capacity. The Hino FS2P is being offered in a sole paint shade of white.

Hino FS2P Interior
Like the exterior design, even the interior cabin of the Hino FS2P has been borrowed from the rest of the lineup of 700 Series of heavy-duty trucks from Hino. The cabin nowhere looks modern and feature-rich and disappoints with its lacklustre finish and layout, which makes it look very outdated in its appeal.
The driver’s cockpit of the Hino FS2P consists of a very outdated-looking two-spoke steering wheel as well as a comprehensive-looking instrument console, the latter of which manages to save some grace with its neat layout. The centre console, which is slightly tilted towards the driver side, comes with a host of rectangular panels for storage bins and an AC control panel. There are a couple of AC vents on either side of the instrument console as well as other corner of the dashboard.

Hino FS2P Exterior
The Hino FS2P shares its entire design with the rest of the 700 Series of heavy-duty trucks from Hino. While it manages to look decent, the fact that it misses out on its own individuality is something that cannot be negated. However, for commercial vehicle owners, this is not a big matter of concern.
A large and wide rectangular windshield is present on the first half of the front profile of the Hino FS2P, which looks quite tall when viewed from the front. This front windshield has got curved on the lower edges. However, the major highlight of the front profile has to be the large and intimidating-looking front grille, which has got three thick horizontal slats spread across its width and laid out in a vertical manner.
While the first two slats find their way on the front apron, the third one is mounted on the front bumper, therefore making the front profile of the truck appear even taller. Other interesting bits of the front profile are the placement of lights – while the lower edges of the front apron come fitted with triangular turn indicators, the corners of the front bumper have headlamps with rounded edges mounted on them.
The side profile of the Hino FS2P is quite conventional in its appearance and seeks inspiration from the rest of the heavy-duty trucks available in the market right now. This can be seen in the way the semi-wheel arches get thick body cladding, the rearview mirrors have hinges mounted on the door panels and there are a few geometrical character lines on the side body panels.

Hino FS2P Ride & Handling
The Hino FS2P shares much of its chassis components with the other trucks from the 700 Series from the manufacturer like a suspension combination of semi-elliptical leaf springs with shock absorbers and stabilizer at the front and semi-elliptical leaf springs with torque rods at the back. Even the braking setup in the Hino FS2P is derived from them, including the service brake consisting of leading and trailing shoes for front and rear wheels with auto brake shoe adjuster and full air dual circuit ‘S’ cam-type brakes and spring brake acting on the front and rear frontward wheels for parking.
-
Hino FS2P Engine & Fuel Consumption
Powering the Hino FS2P is a 10.5-liter inline six-cylinder water-cooled turbocharged diesel engine, which features modern-day essentials like intercooling and overhead camshafts. Coupled with a 12-speed gearbox, this engine of the Hino FS2P pumps out maximum power and torque outputs of 345 PS and 1483 Nm respectively.
-
Hino FS2P Braking & Safety
The only noteworthy safety feature present in the Hino FS2P is ABS.
-
Hino FS2P Verdict
The Hino FS2P might not be too exclusive in terms of design in and out as well as features, but the truck serves where it matters the most, by offering a reliable and torquey engine as well as excellent load-carrying capacity.
