The Hyundai HD65/65X/78 is a range of compact-sized commercial trucks, which is available in multiple iterations, such as container vans, dump trucks, garbage trucks, cranes, road sweepers, safety loaders and wing vans. The entire Hyundai HD65/65X/78 range is available with a diesel-manual powertrain and is offered in a sole shade of white.

Hyundai HD65/65x/78 Interior
The interior of the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 is shared with the HD36L Maxculado, which has begun to show its age, just like the exterior. The cabin here misses out on the brown finish for the surrounds of the instrument console and centre console found in the HD36L Maxculado, and instead, it gets a darker shade of grey than the rest of the cabin, which is finished in a lighter shade of grey.
Available with fabric upholstery as standard, the cabin of the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 comes with an all-analogue instrument console, along with a centre console that faces towards the driver. This centre console accommodates manual controls for AC, 1-DIN audio system, and switches for various functions in the middle, while to their right, it gets a vertical open storage space and AC vents. The driver’s cockpit of the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 includes a four-spoke steering wheel, which is tilt adjustable. The cabin also gets a large transmission lever, with the truck also having a heating function for the outside rearview mirrors controllable from the inside.

Hyundai HD65/65x/78 Exterior
All the multiple iterations of the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 have a common design at the front, which is easy on the eyes. However, at the same time, the design has been in existence for quite a long time now, which makes it feel dated and old-school.
The simple-looking front profile of the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 range has the slanted windscreen placed covering the upper half, while a plain front apron with a grille and headlamps positioned on the lower part covers the lower half. The grille here has a rounded trapezoidal shape, which comes with horizontal slats in the middle and flares surrounding it.
Besides the grille, the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 comes with angular trapezoidal headlamps, which along with the turn indicators placed adjacent to them, are all-halogen units. The front bumper here looks basic with an unpainted finish but has rounded fog lamps integrated into its corners.
Moving towards the side, the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 comes with a zig-zag window line, which makes the side windows appear large for their size. The door panels here also come with a characteristic crease, which emerges from the headlamp and runs to the rear edge. The lower corners of the door panels come with turn indicators, while the upper corners have auxiliary lamps mounted on them. The Hyundai HD65/65X/78 also has large-sized rearview mirrors, which along with the door handles, are blacked out.

Hyundai HD65/65x/78 Ride & Handling
All the iterations of the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 are bestowed with a suspension combination comprising semi-elliptic, laminated leaf springs with front/rear shock absorbers at both front and rear. With 300mm of extra carrying space at the back, the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 is practical for carrying more luggage and goods than the small commercial vehicles of its size.

Hyundai HD65/65x/78 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The powertrain employed in all the iterations of the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 is a 2.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which is one of the oldest and tried-and-tested engines for Hyundai’s commercial vehicle lineup. Mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, this engine produces 80 PS of maximum power, while the peak torque output is rated at 167 Nm. These figures make the 2.6-litre engine of the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 range quite underpowered by modern standards, though they are adequate for the truck for decent purposes.

Hyundai HD65/65x/78 Braking & Safety
Despite being a dated-looking truck which belongs one generation old, the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 range comes with decent safety features like a driver-side airbag and ABS with EBD.
-
Hyundai HD65/65x/78 Verdict
The Hyundai HD65/65X/78 might not be one of the most modern-looking trucks inside-out, with its powertrain also feeling not so impressive under full-load conditions with the lack of power. However, the engine is one of the most reliable powertrains in its segment, while the load-carrying capacity of the Hyundai HD65/65X/78 range is also up to the mark.
