Hyundai MedTRX Overview
The Hyundai Medtrx range is a compact refrigerated commercial van based on the HD36 and HD65 compact commercial trucks from the Korean automaker. Designed for medical and retail clients, the Hyundai Medtrx is being offered in two versions, both of which come with different exterior and engine options, but the same interior and refrigerated cargo. The only colour option in which the Hyundai Medtrx is for sale is white.

Hyundai MedTRX Interior
While the exterior of both the iterations of the Hyundai Medtrx range might differ in their visual appeal, the interior of both of them is completely similar. The only difference in the interior of both iterations is that while the dashboard of the model based on HD36 is brown-coloured, that of the model based on HD65 is dark grey colour. The rest of the cabin features a light grey theme in both iterations.
The Hyundai Medtrx comes with a four-spoke steering wheel, which is tilt adjustable and has an all-analogue instrument console behind it. The centre console, which faces towards the driver, has a rounded outer corner and accommodates the controls for manual AC, 1-DIN audio system and switches for various functions on one side and open storage space and AC vent on the other.
The three-seater cabin of the Hyundai Medtrx has additional features like a compact gear lever, AC vents on the corners of the dashboard and a closed glovebox on the co-passenger side. The Hyundai Medtrx is also equipped with heated rearview mirrors and a closed refrigerated cargo behind the passenger cabin.

Hyundai MedTRX Exterior
The exterior design of the Hyundai Medtrx is based on the HD36 and HD 65 range of commercial trucks, both of which look a tad too plain and a bit old-school. The designs of both these trucks have been in existence for around a decade and have begun to show their age.
The Hyundai Medtrx based on the HD36 truck comes with a rounded rectangular grille with horizontal slats within them and trapezoidal all-halogen headlamps, along with a blacked-out front bumper. On the other hand, the Hyundai Medtrx based on the HD65 range has a slightly more modern look with a rounded trapezoidal grille with horizontal slats within them and angular trapezoidal halogen headlamps, along with body-coloured front bumper with fog lamps.
Both the iterations of the Hyundai Medtrx come with steel wheels without wheel caps in their side profile, which also has a small stepper to climb inside the cabin. In both iterations, the Hyundai Medtrx comes with a zig-zag window waistline and large-sized rearview mirrors. There is also a prominent crease flowing through the side door panels in both iterations of the Hyundai Medtrx range, which emerge from the headlamps and run to the back of the door panels.

Hyundai MedTRX Ride & Handling
Both the iterations of the Hyundai Medtrx range come with the same suspension setup of semi-elliptic, laminated leaf springs with front/rear shock absorbers at both front and rear. With 15-inch steel wheels and a ground clearance of 165mm, the Hyundai Medtrx is easy to drive and manoeuvre with a turning radius of 5.8 metres.

Hyundai MedTRX Engine & Fuel Consumption
There are two engine options offered in the Hyundai Medtrx range. The HD36-based model comes with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 130 PS of maximum power and 255 Nm of maximum torque output while being paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the HD65-based model comes with a 2.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which is larger but lower on power, with 80 PS of maximum power and 167 Nm of maximum torque, while being paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Hyundai MedTRX Braking & Safety
The only safety features offered in the rather basic-looking Hyundai Medtrx range include a driver-side airbag, ABS and EBD. The build quality and fit and finish levels are moderate for both iterations of the Medtrx.
-
Hyundai MedTRX Verdict
While the exterior and interior of both the models of the Hyundai Medtrx range feel outdated, this refrigerated van from Hyundai offers a practical approach to carrying medical and retail items without much hassle, and that too with decent levels of practicality.
