JAC Prince

The interior cabin of the JAC Prince, just like the exterior design, looks too functional and boring, with a lot of rectangular influence throughout the dashboard in the cabin. The entire cabin of the JAC Prince is finished in a dull black theme.

A four-spoke steering wheel, which is both tilt as well as telescopic adjustable, along with a rectangular instrument console with rounded analog gauges form the main driver’s cockpit of the JAC Prince. The center console of the JAC Prince is completely in a theme of rectangular finish, with rectangular panels for a 1-DIN audio system and AC controls in one rectangular panel and two open slots for storage purposes in another rectangular panel.

Both these rectangular panels come with vertical AC vents on their outer sides. The passenger side of the cabin comes with a closed glove box, while the transmission lever looks nice with a silver finish, just like how it is in a passenger vehicle.

The JAC Prince looks very simple and slightly outdated when it comes to design and visual appeal. The functional appeal of the JAC Prince is boring to look at, but the overall well proportional layout of the design looks decent for a truck of its size.

The JAC Prince comes with a large windshield that has rounded corners at the top and tapered edges at the bottom. The front apron is shaped in the form of a trapezium, which covers most of the front profile, has curved side edges and bears the bold JAC logo in the middle. At the bottom of the front profile, there is a large grille finished in chrome. 

On the lower corners of the front profile of the JAC Prince, there are large trapezoidal headlamps that are placed vertically. These headlamps are divided into two parts – while the upper one has turn indicators, the lower ones have the main headlights. The sleek-looking bumper at the bottom has round fog lamps on either ends. The rearview mirrors of the JAC Prince, one on either side, are hinged on curved protruding out panels present above the headlamps.

The simple-looking side profile of the JAC Prince has large side window panels, which come with a tapering down shoulder line at the bottom. There are nice looking smooth curves over the semi-rounded wheel arches. At the same time, the door panels come to have ovular looking turn indicators fitted on the bottom portion of them. 

Irrespective of the body style, the JAC Prince comes fitted with a taper leaf spring setup for the suspension at both front and rear. The suspension setup, although basic and primitive, gives an impressive load-carrying capacity of 3000kg. The four-wheeled JAC Prince comes fitted with full air operated service brake for braking purposes. 

The only engine option present in all the body styles of the JAC Prince is an HFC4DA1-2B1 (4JBI) series inline four-cylinder diesel engine, which features a turbocharger, intercooler, catalytic converter and exhaust gas recirculation systems. This engine is mated to a manual gearbox and breathes out a maximum power output of 105 PS.

The entry-level positioning of the JAC Prince means that it is devoid of many prominent and modern safety features. However, the passengers in the cabin can feel a bit secured by the presence of safety seat belts.

The JAC Prince has a very functional exterior and interior cabin, with a very limited set of features further making it seem like a very basic product. However, for an entry-level four-wheeler commercial truck, it has good load carrying capacity and decent performance.
