JMC JMK4

The overall interior cabin of the JMC JMK4 too carries the same simplistic and straightforward approach in its layout. This simple layout, coupled with an all-grey theme for the plastics, do make the cabin of the JMC JMK4 look very plain and basic. Though, the cabin impresses with its practicality, thanks to the number of storage spaces on the inside.

The driver’s cockpit of the JMC JMK4, which is made up of a two-spoke steering wheel and an all analogue console, lacks flair, though the steering with its tilt adjustability is easy to adjust as per one’s convenience. The center console of the JMC JMK4 is finished in a silver theme, and along with the instrument console, it also houses a 1-DIN audio system, AC vents and control levers for AC in it.

There are a few storage spaces in the cabin of the JMC JMK4, in the form of a dual closed glove box on the passenger side of the dashboard as well as a scooped out slot present just below the center console.

When it comes to the overall design, the JMC JMK4 looks very plain and lacks the overall flair and visual appeal of a modern truck of today’s day and age. The truck, however, looks well-proportioned for a truck of its size, and at the same time, the compact footprints of the JMC JMK4 make it look perfect for fitting in an urban environment.

The simple-looking front end of the JMC JMK4 is divided into two parts – the windscreen in the upper half and the grille and headlamp layout in the lower half. The windscreen of the JMC JMK4 has rounded edges on all of its four corners and gets a blacked-out panel placed below it. This blacked-out panel comes with mounts for rearview mirrors on its either ends.

There is a flat and simple looking trapezoidal panel in the center of the front apron, the upper corner of which is adorned with JMK branding. There is a sleek looking trapezoidal grille positioned at the bottom of the front profile, which is flanked with trapezoidal headlamps with tapered upper edges. At the bottom-most part of the JMC JMK4’s front profile is a sleek looking front bumper, which houses angular shaped fog lamps.

The JMC JMK4 has an even more simple looking side profile, the main highlight of which is a sharp crease, which emerges from the upper edges of the front headlamp and runs across the width of the door panels. The lower portion of the side window panels come in a zig-zag manner.

The JMK4 comes armed with a simply laid out suspension setup of leaf spring setup with shock absorbers both front and rear. While the JMC JMK4 is also a four-wheeled truck and has the same dimensions as that of the lower-spec JMH, it has a bigger load-carrying capacity of 2500 kg. A full air operated service brake takes care of braking purposes.

The JMC JMK4 shares its JX493ZLQ4B series inline four-cylinder turbocharged 2.8-liter diesel engine with the lower-spec JMH trucks, and here too, this engine is married to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the maximum power output of the engine is rated at 102 PS, the peak torque output of the truck stands at 220 Nm.

The JMC JMK4 comes with seat belts for the passengers in its cabin, and apart from that, there is no other noteworthy safety feature in this light-duty truck.

For its good load carrying capacity and compact dimensions, the JMC JMK4 earns itself an image of a decent offering in the category of light-duty commercial trucks.
