Ford Ranger Raptor takes after the Ranger’s design, except that it’s longer, taller, and wider. What sets it apart as a “Raptor” is not a larger size, however, but the bulging fenders, redesigned bumpers, massive steel bash plate, all-terrain wheels with black alloy trims, a 283 mm ride height, and a black front grille with “FORD” spelled out.

The seats inside the Ranger Raptor are bolstered for extra comfort. Wrapped in leather with blue stitching and suede inserts, they improve passenger grip and allow seats to cool down quickly after being exposed to direct heat. The steering wheel (also wrapped in leather) has a red line to remind the driver of its center. Meanwhile, the rest of the interior is dominated by soft matte plastics and anodized iron finishing.

The front panel is well laid out and comes with all of the features you will find on a Ranger Wildtrak, along with some welcome additions. These include analog gauges, a digital multi-information display, and the latest version of Ford SYNC 3 which integrates vehicle information and smart features into the pickup’s infotainment system.

Many of these aforementioned features aren’t just for show. Paired with the Terrain Management System and FOX Shocks Suspension, they enable the Raptor to perform off-road capabilities. Whether it’s wading through 850 mm of water, tackling extreme terrain, or handling sudden drops, expect the Raptor to handle it with relative ease. Thankfully, the cabin is cozy enough to make rough rides enjoyable.

The high-performance pickup is not one to lack safety features - at least, not when you buy a 2020 Ford Ranger Raptor. Its sole variant is equipped with the basics like 6 airbags and child tethers. But there’s plenty more going around like lane keep assist, cruise control, electronic stability control, hill assist, autonomous emergency braking, and a built-in burglar alarm system, just to name a few.

The 2L diesel engine is an absolute workhorse. It cranks out 213 hp and 500 Nm of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission for a smooth drive. One thing it isn’t is a fuel-saver. Depending on your speed and traffic conditions, it can register anywhere between 8.3 and 15.3 kmpl on average.
