Second Hand Hyundai Eon: Why Would You Want One?
While Hyundai has had its focus set majorly on bigger sedans and crossovers in its entire run in the Philippines car market, there was one entry-level hatchback from Hyundai which enjoyed a fair amount of success – the Hyundai Eon.
The Hyundai Eon was on sale in the Philippines for a limited time period, which also was the only model in its entire journey in all the other markets where it had its presence. For almost half a decade of its presence in the Philippines car market, the Hyundai Eon served as the Korean car maker’s most affordable car, thus giving the entry-level car buyers a worthy option of a decently built car at a very affordable price.
2nd Hand Hyundai Eon for Sale: Pros and Cons
Here at Carmudi, the Hyundai Eon serves as the most affordable and basic car from the stable of Hyundai, even in the used car section. Following are all the pros and cons associated with the Hyundai Eon in particular:
Used Hyundai Eon Pros
- Decent build quality and fit and finish levels for the very basic entry-level hatchback segment to which it belonged
- The 0.8-litre petrol engine scores good points when it comes to refinement levels
- The light steering and compact dimensions do make it a breeze to drive in urban traffic conditions
Used Hyundai Eon Cons
- The petrol engine lacked outright power and performance for longer drives
- The steering lacks feedback at higher speeds
- Rear seats feel claustrophobic for taller people
Hyundai Eon Overview
While a majority of global car markets did get the Hyundai Eon soon after its global unveil in 2011, the Hyundai Eon made its official entry in the Philippines car market only in 2014, and went on to be on sale till Hyundai pulled the plug off from the hatchback in 2019.
When it comes to the Philippines car market, in particular, the Hyundai Eon was available in only one decently equipped variant:-
- Hyundai Eon GLX MT
While there were two engine options in total for the global spec Hyundai Eon, the Philippines car market got the Hyundai Eon in only one engine and gearbox combination of a 0.8-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. Coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, the engine makes a maximum power output of 56 PS and a maximum torque output of 72 Nm.
Given the fact that the Hyundai Eon used to cater to the entry level micro hatchback category buyers, it was equipped only with bare basic essentials like power steering, front power windows, manual air conditioner, 1-DIN audio system with two speakers. The car was a regular 5-seater hatchback, though the limited rear-seat space made it a four seater with optimum comfort. Even the boot compartment was tiny at 215 liters.
In addition to a very comprehensive list of used cars for sale by either owners or dealers, Carmudi also offers articles regarding useful tips on how to buy second-hand vehicles. Used Hyundai Eon for Sale on Carmudi
Here at Carmudi, the Hyundai Eon, despite its very affordable pricing, is not as popular as other Hyundai offerings. Following are all the units of Hyundai Accent, which are listed down in the used car section of carmudi.ph as per their manufacturing years:
- Hyundai Eon 2019 – From PHP 400,000
- Hyundai Eon 2018 – From PHP 298,000
- Hyundai Eon 2017 – From PHP 278,000
- Hyundai Eon 2016 – From PHP 230,000
- Hyundai Eon 2015 – From PHP 238,000
- Hyundai Eon 2014 – From PHP 218,000
For the entry-level micro hatchback segment, the Hyundai Eon was a quite a polished car with decent levels of fit and finish. However, for its price and segment, there are many limited options in the used car market, like the 2nd hand Suzuki Alto 800, used Suzuki Celerio, and second hand Suzuki S-Presso as well.
