Honda BeAT

The Honda BeAT resonates with a well-balanced, practical style approach that carries sharp styling cues besides being practical in its approach. The vehicle adapts to a ‘V’-shaped headlight, the similar edgy instance of which can also be seen in the indicators and its informative instrument panel. The seat looks nearly flat but seems to immerse with the sporty grab rail towards the rear of the vehicle. The scooter comes in a compact dimension of 1856 mm (L) x 665 mm (W) x 1068 mm (W). 

Besides the sporty styling of the scooter, the BeAT also leaves enough leg space on the front to carry lightweight bags and other such things. Besides that, the scooter also gets an 11.2L cargo storage that seems effective, considering the overall designing of the scooter. 

Honda BeAT comes with a limited set of features. Standard features across the entire lineup are the tubeless tires, a parking brake lock, a key shutter system, and a side-stand switch. On the other hand, the vehicle also receives an Idle/Stop System that turns off the engine after three seconds of idling. The other features around the BeAT also include a Combi Brake System that ensures effective braking of the vehicle. 

The BeAT turns out to be a good ride for everyday use and offers practicality in its handling. The telescopic front forks and unit swing in the rear work effectively in cases of extremes and are good to come across the short puddles. However, the seats of this scooter are not very comfortable, making it a bad option for long rides.

Besides that, this lightweight and compact scooter lack speed as the 110cc engine won’t give out much when demanded. The leg space provided on the front is also ample to fit in and sit comfortably. The seating position is upright and relaxed, courtesy of the BeATs 740mm ride height and high placed handlebars. Moreover, its 146mm ground clearance also adds to the driving ability of this scooter. 

Powering the Honda BeAT is a 110cc air-cooled and fuel-injected SOHC engine that gives out a maximum power output of 8 hp at 7500 rpm besides giving out a peak torque of 9 Nm. The scooter might not seem very powerful with the power outputs but is ample to meet the street conditions and provide a decent highway ride. The transmission uses a CVT, providing the scooter with its latter half of the name (AT). The ignition option provided with the engine is both electric and kick start. 

Braking in the Honda BeAT is handled by a hydraulic disc brake on the front that works in combination with a drum brake on the rear. Apart from the regular braking system, the scooter also gets the automaker’s combi braking system that activates simultaneous braking when the left lever is pulled. 

As per its safety is concerned, the BeAT comes with a pass switch, shutter lock, and engine check warning to ensure the great safety of the occupants. 

The Honda BeAT is a scooter option for the ones that prefer fuel efficiency over power and performance. The practical looks and sporty detail of the scooter, however, is an add-on at the given price tag. A vehicle is a nice option for students who can’t invest much and are in need of lower maintenance costs
